If You’re in the “Lord’S Recovery” or “Local Church” of Witness Lee, Do You Really Believe Yourself?

Question by Karl: If you’re in the “Lord’s Recovery” or “” of Witness Lee, do you really believe yourself?
Do you really believe that you are the remnant of this age, as God has always worked with a small remnant of people? Do you really believe that you are God’s move on earth today? Do you really believe that your table meeting in any given city is the on the one true ground and all other Christians are meeting in degradation? Do you really believe that you are the “Lord’s Recovery”? Do you really believe that there is not an undue emphasis on Witness Lee? Do you really believe that if you met a group of people meeting as the church in whatever city and with all the same fundamental concepts necessary but do not care to read Witness Lee, that you would agree that they are the proper church in that city? Do you really think that God removes his hand from people who leave the Local Church? Do you agree with many of the elders that people who leave often die because they left? Do you at all think that you are amongst a bunch of crazies, and that crazy has become normal to you?

I am interested in seeing responses from those still in the Local Church. No offense, but for those of you who have never been a part of it and still comment on “Local Church” questions, “Lord’s Recovery” questions, Witness Lee questions, or “Recovery Version” questions – you sound like clanging cymbals to those of us who have been a part of it. Whether you comment in favor of them, against them, or try to sound like an objective scholar, your input reveals your ignorance of the group. You know nothing about this group unless you have lived it. That goes for the cult books as well. I want to hear from those who are living it. I want to know how they genuinely feel about my question.

Most zealot’s are full of themselves. It is not about us, but it is about him…..I don’t feel anything of the sort. I don’t single myself out or think that I am a prophet. I just live to know GOD……

Dick B. 04 AA History & Christian Recovery: The YMCA – Alcoholics Anonymous History: Dick B. explains that many Christians, 12 Step Fellowships, and even YMCA associates will be surprised at the immense Christian influence that the YMCA–as it existed in the 1800’s–had on the cofounders of AA, Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith. The YMCA of that period was focused on Christian conversions, Bible studies, and “personal work.” The Association was nondenominational and unrelated to any particular church, and yet it galvanized many churches and even the United Society of Christian Endeavor. In Vermont, the YMCA instigated events leading to the “Great Awakening” of 1875 in St. Johnsbury, influenced the academies attended by AA’s cofounders, and offered Dr. Bob’s father service as President of the St. Johnsbury YMCA and Bill Wilson service as President of the Burr & Burton Academy YMCA.
