The Church Says Jesus Had a Particular Concern for the People Who Were Poor, What About People Who Lie, Cheat?

Question by Johnny: The church says Jesus had a particular concern for the people who were poor, what about people who lie, cheat?
The church says Jesus had a particular concern for the people who were poor, what about people who lie, cheat , steal, use document fraud , driving cars without licenses, without insurance ? BIRMINGHAM – AL –
Another letter from church leaders appeared on Governor Robert Bentley’s desk. It calls Alabama’s immigration law unconstitutional and unjust – denying basic human rights.
“Our unity comes from our reading of the Gospels and the reality that Jesus had a particular concern for the people who were poor, the people who were vulnerable,” Rev. J. Thomas Ackerman, Prince of Peace said.

The church leaders say they believe the law not only impacts illegal immigrants, but also legal ones. They told us, even the legal Hispanic families they serve fear being racially profiled.

“We’re seeing a dramatic decrease in attendance because people are afraid to go out, that they’re going to get pulled over that they won’t make it back home,” Rev. Ackerman said.

The letter states that the current law is unconstitutional. It notes the increased burden on law enforcement, and emphasizes the law’s impact on schools.
(In SF,LA they do NOT claim the increased burden on law enforcement who must sit around for an unlimited amount of time waiting for someone with a license to arrive to drive the car and illegal home, they have waited up to an hour or more, no complaints from church about the increased burden on law enforcement on this issue )
“Schools are no place for our struggles with immigration to be played out,” Rev. Ackerman said.

You may remember the people who signed this letter also sued in federal court aiming to get certain portions of the act changed.

“What they have seen overall, particularly in their outreach ministries, is the chilling effect of this law on their programs, on attendance of their programs,” Augusta Dowd, attorney for the church leaders said.

“We want people to know, there are two things: we’re not going to repeal this bill,” Gov. Robert Bentley (R) said today. “The bill is going to stay in place. Number two is, all we’re asking is that the people who live and work in this state be legal. That’s not going to change. But there are parts of this bill that need to be looked at, and we’re going to look at that.”

Governor Bentley also said, the things the legislature plans to reconsider in the bill particularly involve law enforcement – making sure they are equipped to enforce the law

What laws if any does the church believe apply to illegals ? Apparently here they think the laws must not be used against any illegal or racist and unchristian ? Is being poor a free ticket to break any laws you want to have a better life ?

Reverend Thomas was reading the wrong gospel. Jesus said love your neighbor not break into your neighbor’s house and take what you want because you are poor. Jesus said knock on the door not break the lock on the door. Jesus said ask and it should be given not grab as much as you can before anyone notices.
In sum Reverend Thomas is either reading the wrong gospel which happens increasingly often lately especially with the Catholic Church or the right gospel but interpreting it wrongly. Because the devil reads the gospel too only upside down.

You say a lot of “the church says this”, or “this guy says that”. What does the BIBLE say? Find out for yourself. The bible says to obey the laws of the land. This means illegals need to go home.
