I’m trying to go army, but i need my medical waiver , when i was much younger i was in a mental hospital and given mandatory therapy and psychiatry, what are my chances ? I was given a letter from my therapist stating that I’m basically fine.Will that help?

you would need a mental waiver, and your chances are small at this point. It never huts to try.
NOTE: PERSONAL or doctor letters have no effect on convincing them to grant your waiver, it has no weight, because you can say a biased letter and the Meps doctors or Waiver command will know it and generally ignore it.

well first of all – civilian practioners have ZERO impact on military decisions or on waivers and when or if they will issue one.
i am sorry to report you are NOT likely to get a waiver. very minor waivers for say, a speeding ticket about to fall off, one too many kids – those are difficult to get. MEDICAL ones are almsot impossible, anything MENTAL is just not likly to happen.
