Why Are There So Many Songs About Drugs and Alcohol?
Question by Wolf: Why are there so many songs about drugs and alcohol?
Between “All Jacked Up” by Gretchen Wilson, and Busted in Baylor County, just to name a couple, it seems the drug and alcohol scene is being, if not glorified, at least overly publicized. Some people might say, “Gretchen’s song is showing the folly of drinking to excess so what’s the problem?” but some people won’t see it that way. Some people will just laugh and say, “that happened to me last week!” and not see the folly of it. Sad, but true.
Busted in Baylor County is by Shooter Jennings, by the way.

i think so many artists and writers are writing about drugs and alcohol because they write about what they feel strongest about, and this stuff is a bad issue.
