Alcohol Facilities: Why Going to an in-Patient Drug and Alcohol Rehab Is a Good Idea
Once we realize that we need help with overcoming our addiction it is usually too late. We have long crossed the line between social user and addict. The social user can get high or have some drinks here and there. As addicts and alcoholics there comes a point that we just can’t afford one more. Our addiction has progressed and is causing problems in our day to day lives. It’s time to quit using. Our lives have become unmanageable. Can we stop on our own, or should we seek the help of an in-patient drug and alcohol facility? I would have to say that quitting with the help of an in-patient drug and alcohol facility is the wise choice. Do some research online, or look up a local rehabilitation facility in the yellow pages. They take most major insurances, and for the uninsured there is usually funding available. They can usually admit you for your in-patient stay within a few days.
Going to rehab is a good idea because for one it removes you from your current living environment. Many of us find it difficult to put our first sober days together in our old stomping grounds. Most drug and alcohol rehabs are 28 day programs. You can put 28 consecutive days of clean time together. Where is would be quite difficult to do so at home. So, this is a good start. They also educate you about the different aspects of addiction, recovery, and relapse.
Once you get home you will have gained some confidence, and should be feeling a bit better about yourself. You may have even put a few pounds back on that you lost from not eating right.
If you’re finding it hard to stop using on your own, pack your bags and admit yourself to a 28 day drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility!
