Do You Believe in Granting Well Wishes to Those Whose Beliefs / Way of Life You Don’t Agree With?
Question by Jim: Do You Believe in Granting Well Wishes To Those Whose Beliefs / Way of Life You Don’t Agree With?
I belong to a lot of messageboards and have seen lots of people behave differently.
I remember a few years ago when HUSTLER magazine’s Larry Flynt had a health scare in the hospital that hardly any open Christians wished him well.
Some stated though they didn’t approve of what he does for a living that they hope he recovers and many others chose to stay silent instead of posting positive messages like “God Bless Larry Flynt and grant him a full recovery!”
Do you wish those well whom you don’t agree with?

Why are you obligated to wish someone well if you don’t even KNOW them?
Obviously you should wish someone well if they’re your friend / family. But complete strangers? Then it just sounds disingenuous. You’d just be saying it to make yourself look good, not because you actually cared.

Yes. If my well wishing depended on whether or not a person agrees with me, I would never wish anyone well. No one agrees with another person 100% of the time.
