If you really want to help people who leave cults, it’s best if you were deeply involved in one as well. Otherwise you’ll be a bit limited. Coming out of my cult, I wouldn’t go to a counsellor who has no idea what it’s like to be in an abusive church.

IDK but I do know where the greatest need for exit counselors is. It’s with a cult called Alcoholics Anonymous. If that much truth doesn’t get a report monkey on my case, I don’t know what will!
