How Do I Deal With Depression?

Question by Levian: How do I deal with depression?
I understand that there must be like 50 different topics on this but I want an answer from what I’m actually going through(Some what).

I’m still just a kid so if I say, “I think i have depression.” Most people assume I’m an attention grabber and say that I’m not.
It all started when I was about 5 when my mom left me, yes I probably have abandonment issues this may be a cause of why I have suspicions of having depression.
I have most of the symptoms:
Hypersomnia
Not eating enough
Lost interests in favorite activities
Unable to focus
Forgetful
Unexplainable guild
Thoughts of suicide

I know maybe an answer or two will be something along the lines of, “You should go see a doctor and get some medication.” The fact is, is that I don’t want to tell my family or anyone for that matter. My dad(My primary care taker) has enough on his plate and worrying about me isn’t going to help him very much.
I guess my question would be; How do I deal with depression without telling anyone?
(Also, since this is completely anonymous I can tell you guys.)
I’d really appreciate someone who can answer me.

This is Andrew G, and I have bipolar disorder. I got through many depressions. If you’re going through a real depression, it difficult to hide from people. When you do hide it, people may consider you stuck up, being selfish, etc. because you don’t interact the same way. You can go and get treatment on your own if that is possible. You’re not going to be able to hide it forever. To be real, depression can lead to suicide and the world doesn’t need to lose a precious person like you, even though your anonymous.

Pray and ask God to life the spirit of depression of of you. (Seriously, that’s a spirit, and nothing of God makes us feel bad).

my Chronic Anxiety.AVI – Is the worlds society really taking notice of the disease of mental illness? or is it treated as people making excuses to not live there lives? theres a reality show helping people with Obesity in the biggest loser,so why not a reality show helping people with Depression/Anxiety or even the homeless, they could call it ‘out of the darkness’,reality show helping those with a mental illness,as we are people with ambitions too and like those with obesity,we have just lost our way,and people like michelle, tiffany and shannon[biggest loser trainers, aussie],even tha commando, would be a massive help in guiding us back to the light,as they have with so many stuggling with obesity..we need to pull togethor people, bring more attention to mental illness, nothing to be ashamed of ! In tha past i have treated it like a common cold, but i now no i need to learn how to deal with it somehow??
