How to Heal a IT Band Injury?

I was diagnosed with an IT Band injury about 3 years ago. The doctor told me if I stop playing basketball it would go away. I stopped playing, went to the “physical therapy” where they just put some medicated patch over my hip, and did my stretches. It still isn’t better. I can’t sit in certain positions like crossing my legs or indian style for very long without my hips feeling like they are going to cramp up on me. If I drive to long, my knee starts to hurt. Walking around at work for long periods of time just kills my knees and hips. I have been debating on going to see a chiropractor thinking that maybe they could do something about it. Does anyone have any advice or insight on this issue?

If and I mean IF your IT band syndrome was properly diagnosed, you need you find a practitioner who utilizes some form of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) This technique helps break down the adhesions and scar tissue in the soft tissues that are causing your pain and restriction. There are chiropractic technics to treat IT. Find a chiro who see athlet on a regular basis,( sport chiro) . Must keep in mined that IT injury takes long time to heal. Must stay a way from what makes it worst. The practioner might give excersise to do, fallow their prescription. Don’t over do them and be patient
