I Need HELP! How Can I Quit This Volunteer Job?
Question by SNSD: I need HELP! how can I quit this volunteer job?
I volunteered at this retirement home as a physiotherapy assistant for about 2 months now. Everything was decent until last week I was assigned to work with this new physiotherapist. I worked with her for about 15 minutes, and there was a minor issue with the wheelchair failing. I just push the wheelchair, so It is honestly not my fault that the resident’s wheelchair is not working. The next day, my supervisor received comments from the person, complaining about my work.
My supervisor has a ‘chat’ with me, and she kind of threaten me about my reference letter and “job” security. I calmly explained the issue, and made it clear that it was a technical failing. Thought we put that behind now so I volunteered again yesterday, I received yet another email today regarding “concern” about my job. I am sick of this, and can not see myself being there anymore.
I would just like to quit over emails, and they have 2 positions for the job, so I don’t think or want to work there for another couple of weeks. How can I say it nicely?
yea no intention of working there anytime soon, the working environment there is really bad and unprofessional.

Don’t quit if you want to land a job there in the future.
If you have no intention of working there at all, call your supervisor and explain that you feel your services will be better appreciated at another facility.
