Is Being Drunk Considered “Possession of Alcohol?”?
Question by Justin: Is being drunk considered “possession of alcohol?”?
In the state of Virginia, I was found drunk by an officer, and I admitted to having a few beers. He then wrote me a summons to court with the charge of “Underage possession of alcohol.” When I told him I didn’t have any beer, he said I did and that it was in my system.

You should have been charged with “Underage consumption of alcohol” not possession….huh. Not sure how picky they are with their wording in Virginia but in NY the 2 charges carry the same penalties. That cop sounds a little dumb though. It’s like he didn’t want to admit that he made an error in wording so he pulled bs out of his butt, lol.
