It’s an advanced foot drop system designed to use mild stimulation to lift your foot to help you walk more safely and easily. Miss Leyva is hoping her insurance company will help pay for this amazing devise. It’s designed to fit just below your knee and to be put on and taken off with one hand. Use of the NESS L300 may eliminate the need to wear a rigid, heavy orthosis. Ie She may be able to dump her leg brace. Thestroke hit her like a sunami on September 1, 2007; she was only 44. Her stroke happened at home following the first week of school at Oceanside High School where she taught Spanish since 1999. Having earned both a BA in English Literature as well as a BA in Russian Literature at the University of Havana, Cuba, Leyva-Griffith escaped communist Cuba and was granted political asylum here in the US She has struggled to speak. Nothing at first, vast improvement to date and always building. Husband Rick Griffith is the sole caregiver. Since Isabel’s stroke left her unable to speak, write, or read, communication is very difficult. We are a family with a mom and a dad, four lovable little doggies (three are adopted), two adopted kitties, two birds, and a pond full of goldfish.
