L.A. Residents! Do You Think the E! Show “Pretty Wild” Is Our Version of Jersey Shore?

Question by Dani California: L.A. residents! Do you think the E! show “Pretty Wild” is our version of Jersey Shore?
Have you seen it? It’s jaw dropping ridiculous. Most reality shows based here are pretty goofy, but this one in particular likes to connect the girls’ actions with and it’s sad. I’m not sure if this will hinder our tourism or help it. Either way, it’s for the wrong reasons.

I always preach no judgment, etc., but I have to admit–it’s REALLY hard for me to keep my thoughts concerning this show from going negative.

I realize most teens party. I know I did, but this is beyond partying. This is an out of control road to Celebrity Rehab w/ Dr. Drew.

Even if they weren’t allegedly robbing celebrities (which is E!s original purpose for being on the air), they are still sending a message to the malleable minds of teens (especially ones here in Los Angeles) that this behavior is cool.

Then again, maybe E! is onto something by exposing what’s “cool” as simply ridiculous and pitiful. These girls need help. Truly. And so does every other teen who engages in “wild” actions to this degree. When they say “this is the norm” or “this is how a lot of teens are,” I say “that doesn’t make it right!” There are atrocities going on in Darfur right now, but just because it is doesn’t make it just.

Basically, I’m just tired of the calls and texts asking “is that really how it is out there?”
