Nollie Robinson Program Director/ CEO A Road to Recovery – Nollie Robinson Program Director/ CEO A Road to Recovery Treatment center. Hi my name is Nollie Robinson and I am the executive director and CEO of A Road to Recovery in Port St. Lucie, Florida. I got into this field about 33 years ago because of the damage I did to my family as a result of my addictions. Once I was in recovery for a couple of years I decided to try to help some people so they wouldn’t have to go through the same thing. And an end result of that has been A Road to Recovery. That was one of the things that was very important to me over the course of my career working in the field of addictions was to be able to provide to provide quality treatment at an affordable price, and not have to answer to a big board of directors about financial decisions. So we are able here to concentrate on the individual. One size does not fit all when it comes to our addiction, so we take a look at each person’s individual needs and we address those, and we try to get the family involved in the very beginning of the patients treatment because it is a family illness and affects everybody in a negative fashion that has any kind of contact with an active addict. We have a very highly trained and efficient staff here at A Road to Recovery. The most important thing to me in terms of being able to treat this illness is you have to love addicts and alcoholics. It’s not something that you can do if you don’t because we are a very frustrating people. We irritate everybody that’s close
