“Pedestrian Under the Influence of Alcohol” Ticket?? Law Question…?

Question by ?CUTIE?: “Pedestrian Under the Influence of Alcohol” ticket?? Law question…?
I’m 30 yrs old and have NEVER been in trouble in my life, until last weekend. I was walking down the street after a night at the bars and was stumbling all over. A police officer pulled up and took me in saying I was a danger to myself and others. I was placed in a cell for about 15 mins til a friend came and picked me up. It cost $ 75. to get me out and I recieved a $ 75 ticket that says ‘pedestrian under the influence of alcohol’. I’m scared to death!!! i’ve never been in trouble before and thought that walking home after drinking was the RIGHT thing to do, but I guess you can even get into trouble for that too..Is this going to be on my permanent record?? and I volunteer for a girl scout troup, is this going to affect that???
Thanks for the opinions but I would like some answers to my couple of questions….please.

you did do the right thing. But according to law you were in the wrong.

Thats why its just a small fine. They do not want to deter people from walking instead of driving but their point is you should never let your self get that bad period.

Its not going to affect anything. Doesn’t go on your driving record and unless you get the same ticket a few times, no one will ever care. Dont worry about it. =]

Public intoxication is against the law. If you can’t control your drinking, stay home. You could have staggered into the street and killed yourself or someone else. It’s not a smart way to behave. Be smart and take care of yourself.

The – Here is a short clip about my Brother who is an Alcoholic who does want help but cant get it unless we can pay £500 pw or more for a rehab clinic one of the most frustrating things me myself have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with, when you love someone but cant do anything for them.
