Question by Jake: How to get a medical marijuana card? I just turned 18 and recently I’ve been introduced to the wonders of MJ. I have Multiple “diseases” or “illnesses” in which MJ treats. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, clinical depression, and anxiety. I also have medical history for them all. I also have a very mild form of insomnia (untreated.) I’ve been around pills since I was 13 years old and I think it’s about time to try something new. My ADHD medicine “Ritalin LA” has the side affects of me loosing my appetite. It’s not horrible but I’ve only gained 15 pounds Max through high school and never ate much. And MJ is an appetite increaser As well. I know this because it runs very strong in my mothers side of the family, and they are all on medication of various sorts. My mother before me had it, and now she is deceased due to cancer, and while she was a teen, she tried killing herself several times because of depression. My father, who I currently live with, will not take me to a health clinic to get me help or to see a psychiatrist because he “doesn’t believe in medication”. There is no point in talking to him about it anymore, or trying to get him to take me, because all he will say is that I need to “pull my head out of my a**” and “stop being stupid and trying to get attention.” So, the ultimate question is: how can I treat depression in any way without the use of prescription medication?
