Best answer: Answer by CiCii was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder when i was 13 my doctor put me on zoloft back then, and i tried to kill myself while i was on it. so i quit taking it. i started smoking weed ( its not for everyone. everyone’s experience is different) and i felt better. and xanax really helped me too in the beginning. when i was 19 my doctor gave me seroquel. it made me eat more and cry more and once again i tried to kill myself. so i quit taking it. bi-polar medications make the disorder worse for me. ive been without the meds now for 3 years and i do have my mood swings but ive learned to control them.
