Question by Romeo: Did FDR’s “New Deal” Help the country out of the “Great Depression” or just prolong it? Like a typical liberal Democrat, FDR raised taxes, increased spending on government programs, hospitals, roads, parks, etc… and increased the size of government by creating regulatory bureaus. He propped up the price of farm products by paying farmers to plow under a portion of their crops to increase the demand.
