I’ve only gotten one straight answer on this one before. would like to know the opinion from a general group of Muslim people. some may be aware of the Lina Joy case. For those who are not: Lina Joy is a convert from Islam to Christianity. In 1998 she filed to have her religion changed from Islam to Christianity on her national id card to gain legal recognition and also remove the barrier to her marrying her Christian fiance (not legal under Malaysian law) There have been many problems: Malay Sharia courts punishe apostates with forced “rehabilitation” or imprisonment.
