HI, I attended a “stress management” workshop in school, and am going to write a paper about the workshop for my psychology class. The workshop just taught me how to relax, deal with stress, respond to stressful situation, etc. I am not sure what area of psychology “stress” is in. Can someone tell me? Does it mean that anything short of absolute calmness is an abnormality? Having a typical cycle of happy/sad/angry/etc. is the “ordered” mood. ... by Matt: Whats up with “light therapy”? My fiance is going to these light therapy sessions for her bipolar disorder, and has stopped taking her prescriptions. Personally I can’t tell any difference, good or bad, since she’s started this.. I just want to know what the deal is, and if this is a legitimate form of treating mood disorders/depression. Ive gone along with her to a few of these sessions, which basically consist of people sitting in a room while a florescent lamp flashes several different patterns over and over again.
