Question by : What does “chemical imbalance” mean and what is the link? Hi. I have tried really hard to search for the possible meanings of chemical imbalance. What comes up are diagrams of the neuron synapsis and information that there is something wrong with the balance of/or amount of neuron transmitters. However what is the link between this and depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and OCD? The information is very scarce. It works, if you stick with it. I got mine from one of my old psych’s. But, I’m sorry I don’t remember the name of it. It was from a very old author is all I remember. Don’t take Shirley’s “doctor” advice. That’s just stupid. No real doctor in their right mind would prescribe that for someone with depression alone. That’s the same as xanax, which is for anxiety.
