The Xanax Story “Please Help”?

Question by jaymax173: The Xanax story “please help”?
So I got off xanax and tried anti depressents, klonopin wich made me cranky if I take it more then couple days and wont help me sleep.

I tried and used ambien to help me get off xanax or stay off the benzos this last year.

I have a heart condition and take propranolol for my tachycardia wich is caused by a heart that doesnt keep up with my body so it goes fast to keep up.

Now im back on xanax because that worked best only on 0.5 to 1mg a night to help sleep and relaxation it seems to work the best and is only medication my insurence covers as much as I need along with klonopin for weekends.

Originally I wanted to get off xanax I did for 3 months and ended up very anxeius unable to settle down very well.

Is there other anti depressents besides celexa I can try that might also help with sleep at night instead of being on xanax all the time.
Celexa works but for soem reason it makes me kick at night and does not help my insomnia or sleep.

Or will I just have to deal with one of these and live with it?
Trazadone is what someone recommended to me does it help anxeity too?
The celexa is the anti depressent to clear that up.

Trazodone worked for me, it’s an anti-depressant and a sleeping pill.

Klonopin, like Xanax, is a benzodiazepine, not an antidepressant. Using it as a substitute will not help you overcome your xanax dependence unless you are tapering your doses.

You should try valerian root or melatonin. The two are natural sleep aids. Valerian also has anti-anxiety effects. 0.5 mg is a pretty low dose. Taking them together can have antidepressant qualities. They’re both over the counter but you might want to run it by your doctor.
