Was the Chemical Imbalance Theory of “Mental Illness” Created Just Because It Can’t Be Tested?
Question by John Schmidt: was the chemical imbalance theory of “mental illness” created just because it can’t be tested?
I think of this from a socio-political perspective. Since people with alleged “mental illnesses” are to be controlled, first step is to establish a supposedly objective standard to why call them mentally ill. Today it is the nonsensical “chemical imbalance” theory. Why don’t people with parkinson’s disease or alzhaimers get “treated” against their will, they certainly have brain diseases? And is it morally right to “treat” someone against their expressed wishes?
