Hi, I’m 17 and need to go get a physical for a job tomorrow but my dad works so I have to go alone, I’m guessing ill need my (his) health insurance card and? Also is it required to be 18 to go alone or can a 17 year old go with all the correct paperwork and cards? BTW i live in NJ. Ty.

did you try calling the place ahead of time and asking them.. most doctors office require that minors have an adult present with them…

You should be fine. Teens go to see therapists alone every day in this country. Take your dad’s insurance card, make sure there’s no co-pay due at the time of your visit (ask your dad before he leaves for work), and take your driver’s license with you.
Most medical clinics now require patients to confirm their indentity and birthdate with photo ID at the front desk. Fill out as much of the paperwork as you can. If there’s questions about when you got all your shots/vaccines and you’ve been there before, write “on file with clinic.” If this is not your families usual doctor then do your best to fill in all the blanks.
