Question by Kelly: What is “alcohol testing” for employment about?
Like many people, I’ve been screened for illegal drugs for employment before. But since alcohol is legal if you’re an adult, what’s the point of screening for alcohol?

Alcohol testing is when you get an accident at work and they have to screen you for that. Just in case you’re drunk at work. IF you are then work won’t cover your medical expenses.

Most employers don’t want people impaired by either drugs or alcohol while on the job. It’s usually not a part of the pre-employment screening, but is generally required when someone has an accident on the job to make sure alcohol is not a factor.
