Why Do People Say Antidepressants “Save Lives” When They Have Been Disastrous for Me?

Question by James D: Why do people say antidepressants “save lives” when they have been disastrous for me?
I keep hearing the psychologist, psychiatrist, friends, everyone tell me antidepressants save lives.

They not only make me feel more “muted” as some claim, but more anxious and MORE depressed.

And this idea that I haven’t found the right one isn’t very satisfying.

I’ve been on , Wellbutrin, Lexapro, and Celexa btw.

Any ones you recommend, or do they really suck as much as I think they do?

Idk. I’ve been on them for five years. No improvement. I do pilates. I try and keep fit too but nothing works. My brain is raddled.

I could have asked the same question.

It is different for each person, so no factual answer can really be given.

Personally, I have been on many, and none of them helped. All of them made me worse, or had no effect whatsoever. I have found they only really work on people who have mild problems.

What do you think? Answer below!
